USA Swimming
Year-Round Swim Team, Member of USAS (United States of America Swimming).
This program is for swimmers who want to make a long-term commitment to the sport of swimming. Registration is held in approximately Oct/Nov for swimmers new to USA swimming or for registration renewals. Age 6-18.
Team info
Session I and Session II occur during “short course season” with meets held at “25-yard” pools and run August though April. Session III occurs during “long course season” with meets held at “50-meter” pools and runs from May to July. Only swimmers who have been registered in Session I and/or Session II will be allowed to register for Session III. USA swimmers not interested in swimming in Session III (long course) are encouraged to register for our SAAA summer team. We especially encourage those swimmers who are in the White and Blue groups to register for the SAAA summer team.
USA swimmers who wish to transfer to the USA TJCC team must first contact the head coach prior to registering.
If a USA swimmer who has registered and paid for Session III would like to participate in SAAA meets, that swimmer must pay an Administrative Fee of $60 and fill out the required SAAA registration form.
New Swimmers

Registration Information and Fees

Administration fee: Each swimmer is also required to pay into a family entry fee to cover USAS registration (56.00), swim meet entry fees, coaches’ travel expenses, and club operating expenses covering awards, equipment, etc. An initial payment of 50.00 is required and is non-refundable. This account must remain on the plus side - any accounts in arrears will be assessed a 5.00 penalty.
Scholarships
The Stingray Fundraising Account will provide a scholarship to be used ONLY for swim team Session Training Fees for a swimmer/family who meets the criteria for a Tucson JCC scholarship. The swimmer/family may also be eligible for a reduced Tucson JCC membership fee based on the same financial need criteria.
The Stingray Scholarship guidelines are as follows: $50.00/swimmer per session, $100.00 per family per session, $500.00 maximum available for funding per session.
Please make your request to Coach Amy Behm and/or to Denise Blumenthal, COO of the Tucson JCC. You will be given a copy of the complete Stingray Scholarship Guidelines upon applying for a scholarship.
MEAD Account
A MEAD account (Meet Entry Fee Account) will be set up for each swimmer/family. This account is required whether or not your swimmer plans on competing in meets. Checks are to be made payable to “TJCC Stingrays” and given to the Team Treasurer. Money deposited into this account covers the annual USA Registration Fee of $56 and future meet entry fees. On average, a typical meet will cost approximately $30/swimmer. A swimmer may not enter a meet if his/her account balance is below $20. Our Team Treasurer will notify you when the balance is close to $20. If a swimmer decides to leave the Stingray swim team, then a written request to withdraw the funds must be given to the Team Treasurer within 30 days of the swimmer’s last practice. The funds remaining minus the registration fee will be returned.

Communication:
The primary forms of communication with the team are:
- Email (If you would like to be added to our email list, please send us a request at tjccstingrays@yahoo.com with “ADD TO EMAIL LIST” in subject line. Please provide us with your swimmer’s last name.
- Folders - Folders will be made for them (filed alphabetically by the swimmer’s last name) and kept in a file box in the swim team office. Swimmers are asked to check these for ribbons, notices, etc. on a daily/weekly basis.
