2 Stingrays Race Aquathon
FYI…. I took two of our swimmers to an aquathlon last Wed night as guinea pigs to see how these races are run here in Tucscon….This event consisted of an 800 swim and 3 mile run (they also offer youth distance on Monday eves- this was an adult distance event). Bonnie Diamond and Reed Wallace were my guinea pigs for this event, and as you can see from the results- did extremely well…. Our kids are in excellent condition (since swimming is an endurance sport) and capable of many things! We train adequate yards and have a strong endurance base to have an event like this compliment our training during this time of the season.
Our stingrays swimmers are lean, mean, fightin’ machines- more so than they know!! I believe an experience like this can help our kids gain confidence in themselves and expose them to experiences outside of swimming that will help develope thier overall athleticism and competitive edge.
If you are interested in entering one of these events… I would be interested in knowing! I’d like to take a group of stingrays to a youth aquathlon (200 free/1 mile run) sometime within the next two weeks…
