News Flash - Lobo Invite held in Albuquerque, NM Results
News Flash! Here’s the latest on our Stingrays performances from our team travel trip to the Lobo Invite held in Albuquerque, NM! There were over 600 swimmers from 6 different states whom competed (NM, Co, Az, Wy, Mo, TX ). There was one Olympic QT set as well! ABQ is at 5,000 ft elevation so altitude adjustments were given to SWIMS times! Check it out www.usaswimming.com !! (1.2 second=200; 5.0 seconds= 400; 10.0 seconds for 800!!)

Natalya Orbach- Mandal: Best times recorded 100 free (3rd); 200 free (3rd); 100 back (3rd); 50 fly (4th); 100 fly (3rd); 200 IM (5th)- a total of over 20 seconds taken off helped her achieve 3rd place overall high point for 8& Under Girls! Way to Go Natalya!!!

Hannah Orbach-Mandal: New AZ state qualifications in 50 free; 200 free (6th) and best time recorded in 50 breast!
Emily Belton: First time swims in everything (50/100/200 free; 50/100 back; 50 fly; 200 IM)! This one is on her way to great things! Keep it up Emily!
Martin Hocheder: New AZ State qualifications made in the 50 free (11th); 100 free (8th); 200 free (10th). Best times not only in these events but also in the 50 and 100 breast; 50 fly and 200 IM. Good Job Martin!…. now we need to swim that 100 fly since you’re soooo good at it!!

Bonnie Diamond: Best times in 100 free (3rd); 200 free (3rd); 400 free (2nd); 50 back (5th); 100 back (3rd); 200 back (1st); 50 breast; 50 fly; 200 and 400 IM (4th). New Far Western Zone times made in 200 free; 400 free and 200 IM. Bonnie took 3rd place overall high point for 11/12 girls! Way to Rock Bonnie!…..
Erika Hocheder: Best times in 100 free (9th); 200 free (6th); 100 fly 200 IM and 400 IM (5th) and 800 free (1st)! New Far Western time in the 800 free- this was an amaziing and inspiring race that Erika swam…. YOU GO GIRL!!……
Georgia Matz: Best times in 50/100/200 free; 50/100 back; 50 fly; 400 IM and 200 fly (1st!). Georgia was the only 11/12 girl in the entire meet to swim the 200 fly! She also qualified for AZ State in the 400 IM her first time to swim it! This girl is an “ANIMAL”!!
Alexis Souza: Best times in 50 free; 200 free; 100 back (5th); 200 back (4th); 50 breast; 200 breast (2nd); 50 fly; and 200 IM. She is very, very close to making her Far Western cuts in the backstroke events….. Though she is very quiet and hardly ever says anything (this is a joke from our trip….) she sure makes a roar in the water!
Reed Wallace: Best times in 400 free (3rd); 50 back (4th); 100 back (6th); 200 back (2nd); 50 breast; 50 fly and 100 fly. Reed made her Far Western Zones times in 400 free, 200 back and the 50 fly at the tender age of 11!! This means she has over 14 months to swim in this age group and these events at this meet until she ages up to 13/14! This is not an easy accomplishment for the 11/12 girls age bracket….Way to go Reed!
Michael Li: Best times in 50 free and 50 breast. Good job Michael!

Jordon Belton: Best rtimes in everything he swam!! He made a Far Western cut in the 50 free (2nd) and fell shy of the 100 free (3rd)! Made AZ State qualification times in the 100 and 200 free (5th); Best times in the 400 free (4th); 100 back (10th); 200 back (6th) and 100 breast (8th). Good job Jordon- you have alot more in you that we hope to see this season!
That’s about it…. other than a great time bonding and enjoying ourselves, eating some good, food and laughing alot- we had a really great travel trip! There were 11 kids, 2 coaches and one adult male chaparone (Dave Wallace). Special thanks to Mr Wallace who volunteered his time to allow us to make this trip happen! We will definately do this again for Short Course, so stay tuned and please feel free to congratulate these young swimmers whos hard work and dedication are definately paying off!! Way to Go STINGRAYS!
