Special Congratulations to Jordon Belton who has officially qualified for his first Sectional Time Standard (by .01) in the 50 freestyle. Also, to Matt Kautz who “surprised even himself” and smoked his competition in the 100 breast receiving the only gold medal for the Stingrays team (you can see the race ). Reed Wallace, Erika Hocheder, Dakota Kordseimon, Martin Hocheder, Brooks Fail, Jordon Belton and Matt Kautz all finished in the top 9 within their events throughout the meet.
Fast swimming wasn’t the only thing these Stingrays enjoyed… it was also a time to nurture relationships with family and friends; grow as individual and enjoy being a part of a warm, welcoming and encouraging team of swimmers, parents and coaches. Stingrays are AWESOME- there is no doubt! Congratulation to each of you for your outstanding performances.
See you at the pool!! Coach Amy

Fall Festival #2 Results
Results from this weekends Fall Festival #2 swim meet are attached. A great showing by our Stingray Swimmers! Many, many best times and several new Regional and State qualifications were made!! Our kids looked good and are showing definate signs of improvement. Kudos to coaches, swimmers and parents for the commitment, work and dedication all are putting in! It is definately a privledge to be apart of such a dynamic and supportive group of individuals who come together and really seem to enjoy eachother- on the deck and off. Some really outstanding swims were made - one in particuliar was Julien Galons in his 200 breast; another by Georgia Matz in her 200 fly (both made State Qualification times!); other swimmers took huge chunks of time off! Please take time to check out the results… Congratulations Stingrays. You did a great job this weekend and we hope you’ll join us again this week to make corrections and improvements in areas we found “in need” at this past weekends competition (relay starts, breaststroke turns, backstroke turns, butterly timing, finishing race(s) stong). See you at the pool!
note: I will try to get some pictures from the meet up tonight
Fall Festival #3 Results and Photos
Attached are this weekends meet results and team scores. Check it out! TJCC Stingrays out scored all teams in all categories with the exception of one (Session A- boys- we only had 3 boys competing!).
Our kids has a solid meet. We found many improvements with regard to skills, time drops, understanding of swim meets, relay starts, etc. Many new best times and several kids who had been ill the week prior, learning to compete even when they didn’t “feel” fast, etc. Thanks to all those exceptional parents out there that helped with relays, timing, educating new parents, etc. On behalf of the coaching staff, I want to state that It is a privilege to be a part of this team and all the wonderful individuals who comprise it! Good job Stingrays!!

Fall League Championship Results!
Atttached are the results from the Fall League Championships Finals held two Sundays ago (Nov 15th)!. The results highligh our Stingrays, thier final placment, points scored and time drops There were numerous Far Western Zone, AZ State, and Regional Qualification times achieved. Many of these times were personal best for our Stingrays and we are extremely proud of this small group who represented our program! Great swimming kids!
2009 Pentathalon
Stingrays!
Here is a brief recap of this past weekends Pentathalon Swim Meet compliments of Coach Coleman:
The Pentathlon was a great success for the TJCC Stingrays! 28 of our swimmers battled the cold morning weather and the competition to have a very successful meet!
For the younger swimmers, it is so important to gain meet experience. If they can brave the cold and various obstacles, then the hard part is over! There was a relatively small amount of disqualifications for our “beginning” swimmers, which is a testament to how hard these kids work in practice.
For our seasoned veterans, this meet was another opportunity to gain racing experience. There were best times that were swum, which is a great accomplishment considering the weather and the pool that the meet was held. If you are dropping times under these conditions, then we should all be excited for what is going to happen at the culminating meets! Just because some swims were not best times, does not mean they were not well swum. The effort was there, and if you continue to work hard in practice, then those times will continue to fall!
Thanks to all of the parents for helping the kids and the coaches at the meet… we sincerely appreciate it!
Just keep swimming
ALSO!…….
Special congratulations to the following high point Stingrays:
- Samantha Covello- 2nd place high point for 8 and Under girls
- Nicholas Rothe- 1st place high point for 8 and Under boys
- Julien Gallons- 3rd place high point for boys 9/10.
Each of these swimmers were presented thier award in front of their training group(s) and we are proud of their accomplishment(s). If anyone was left off this list, please email me corrections…. since I’m doing this in abstentia, I’ll ask for your patience, but definately want to acknowledge our swimmers accomplishments.
Great job Stingrays!
